Our Story

We started with
a bicycle.

Not because it was easy — because no one else on Cat Ba was doing it seriously, and it was the slowest, most honest way to show people the island we actually live on.

The Forest and Sea
of Cat Ba Island

"Most travelers know Cat Ba for Lan Ha Bay."
Few ever venture into its truest treasure.
2004

2023
UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site

Few travelers ever venture into Cat Ba's truest treasure: the primeval forest of Cat Ba National Park.

The Cat Ba Archipelago is a sanctuary of global significance — recognized as a UNESCO World Biosphere Reserve on December 2, 2004, and inscribed as part of the Ha Long Bay – Cat Ba Archipelago UNESCO World Natural Heritage Site on September 16, 2023. Seven interlocking ecosystems — primeval forest, mangroves, coral reef, karst caves, tidal flats, and hidden marine lakes — sit side by side here, nowhere else quite like it.

Local operators had years of experience, but the island lacked a professional, full-service DMC that agencies and travelers could fully rely on to move across all of it — forest, reef, village, bay. Many stayed narrowly specialized — one company built entirely around mountain trekking, another around multi-day kayak expeditions.

Our mission is to bridge the gap between Cat Ba's famous marine beauty and its untouched terrestrial wonders — designing mindful journeys deep into the island's green heart, while helping build sustainable livelihoods for the local community.

Our Vision

Reimagining
Wellness Travel

The Global Wellness Institute defines wellness travel as travel that helps sustain or enhance personal wellbeing. It's a familiar idea across much of the world — and still a new one in Vietnam.

We chose cycling as our starting point. It's a carbon-neutral way to move through the island, and a physical wellness practice in its own right — slow enough to let you breathe the ocean-forest air, mindful enough to actually notice where you are.

From here, we're building outward: trekking, kayaking, village life, forest bathing, local food — moving through the fuller idea of wellness, one stage at a time.

Founded by three people who never left

People who know the island
because they live in it.

Local, always

We hire one person.
We open doors for a family.

Our cycling operation runs on two people most guests never see by name: Cường, our mechanic, keeping every bike road-ready, and Thắng, who leads our local guide team on the ground.

Hiring locally isn't just filling a role. When someone from Cat Ba joins our team, we often open a door for their family and friends too — building livelihoods that stay on the island, instead of leaving it.

In Vietnam, we're still building the trail.

One small island, every kind of terrain

Around 300 km² —
and five ecosystems deep.

Limestone forest, coastal mangroves, karst wetlands, coral reef, and a coastline still worked by generations of local fishermen. Cat Ba is small enough to know completely, and varied enough to never run out of it.
